The perfect blend of the purple sky meeting the deep blue of the ocean puts me at a loss for
words. I am entranced, enchanted by its beauty. I begin to notice the sand creeping in between my toes and the water slowly lapping around my ankles, seeming to gently beckon me farther in.

Deep blue, vast unknown
You enchant me, terrify me
You have the power to set me free, bring clarity
Let me sink into you
Wash away this weight of the world

I lay down in the wet sand. I stretch my legs to greet the ocean tide. I’m unaware of my
surroundings; I blocked them out

I begin to feel small
Like the stars appear to me
Who can fathom eternity?
My eyelids feel heavy
So, I let them fall

I awake suddenly from my dream, only to realize I am in an endless one.

As wet sand dries
I can’t help but feel slightly empty inside
Leaving you, the great ocean blue
Until we meet again-
It’s all somber, until then

But it beckons me
How can I refuse?
I run to get one final view
Then I shut the curtains, it’s farewell for now
She’s not going anywhere, so rest for now

I bid the ocean farewell for the night; it is always a bitter-sweet separation and I hate to go. But if I stay forever there will be no tether.

Another day brings another sunrise
Here, there is no need for disguise
She tells you “you must be yourself; no one will criticize”
And I never cease to be amazed by the intense beauty of this metamorphosing sky
Meeting the ocean with no fear of divide

“This here is peace,” I say lying down
All is well inside, let the rest be pulled out with the tide
