Founded in 1967, Stillpoint Literary Magazine publishes in print every spring and online on a regular basis. The magazine is a strong voice in the literary and artistic communities of Athens, Georgia.

Editorial Board

Isa Davis (Editor-in-Chief) is a 3rd year English and Comparative Literature Major with a minor in Linguistics, who loves speculative fiction, a fine cup of coffee, playing trumpet, and dancing.

Hwain Mun (Arts & Design Editor) is an English major who loves plants, boba, true crime, and Taylor Swift. She has way too many stuffed animals, but that doesn’t stop her from constantly buying more. She can be found at any AASA event (come join!!) and at Bolton, munching on desserts.

Sam Thompson (Submissions Editor) is an English and Comparative Literature double major with a minor in Law who drinks way too much coffee and is an obsessive organizer. She loves rainy days, baking pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and any opportunity to be creative (and to use a hot glue gun).

Iman Khan (Submissions Editor-in-Training) is a second year majoring in international affairs, political science, and Spanish; minoring in Arabic, law, jurisprudence, and the state, and communication studies; and getting a certificate in personal and organizational leadership. She enjoys, reading, writing, playing tennis, ice skating, watching movies (her current favorite is Interstellar), and eating ice cream. Her hot take (but should be a cold take, in her opinion) is that bell peppers are terrible.

Chairpersons

Jiya Porwal (Website Chair) is a first year intended Environmental Engineering major who is enthralled with the Classics, national parks, and chai. While not Stillpoint’s Website chair, she’s often meandering and/or working towards understanding; tempora mutantur et nos mutamur in illis.

Ria Lisso (Copy Editing/Layout Chair) is a first year pre-law Cognitive Science major. Other than anything creative writing, she enjoys fencing and exploring new cultures and languages. She hopes to pursue a career serving the public, with a dream goal of publishing a book one day.

Spencer Goss (Events Planning Chair) 

John Idell (Graphics/Social Media Chair) is a fourth-year Cognitive Science major who is passionate about photography, audio-visual equipment, synthesizers, and critically listening to music. When not at Stillpoint, he can be found serving as President with the Students for Psychedelic Advocacy, Research, and Connection (SPARC), or working at the Main Library carrying out various duties.

Megan Berry (Outreach Chair) is a second year Biology and Psychology double major who enjoys watching bad movies, listening to copious amounts of Charli XCX, teasing her loved ones, spoiling her dog, and rearranging her Spotify playlists.

Staff

Sophie Belnap is a second year English major whose life mission is to drink tea while reading as much as possible. She can be found doing solo ambulatory expeditions around campus on nice evenings

Cander Bennett is a first-year English major with an emphasis in creative writing. He enjoys scream singing in the car, taking too long on his turn in board games, and pretending to not be allergic to his army of cats.

Ryan Bohn is a 3rd year English and Linguistics major.

Whitney Bramlett is a third year English major with minors in Theatre and Political Science. She is an avid reader of Shakespeare and loves watching productions of his plays. In her spare time, she enjoys grabbing bubble tea with her best friend, going to record stores downtown, and rewatching Star Wars.

Olivia Burgess

Courtney Carrington is an Entertainment and Media Studies major and English minor. She spends most of her time dreaming up stories for the long list of characters she’s created over the years. Spellcheck is her best friend, and she can often be found drinking excessive quantities of caffeine, listening to her extremely eclectic playlist, or causing chaos with her best friends

Dani García-Pozo is an intended EMST major with an English minor. He has previously served as the writing editor for the award-winning Iliad Literary-Art magazine, and has attended various conferences on creative writing. In his spare time, he enjoys contemplating the universe.

Rin Greco is a junior majoring in English Education. She still hasn’t read anything better than Harry Potter and she enjoys writing, true crime podcasts and reading a Stephen King novel.

Jason Hawkins is a UGA student majoring in English and minoring in Computer Science and Japanese. He loves reading and literature as a whole but is particularly a fan of poetry and speculative short fiction. Additionally, he enjoys movies, video games, overanalyzing every piece of media, and learning other languages.

Erin Howard is a freshman majoring in Genetics and Plant Biology. Their two favorite writers are Mary Oliver and Ray Bradbury.

Morgan Maddox is a senior with an English major with a concentration in Creative Writing and a Religion minor. She spends most of her time reading, writing, or listening to Hozier. If you see her on campus, she’s probably rewatching her favorite crime shows with a latte from Jittery Joes.

Ezi Ononuju is a Computer Science major from Alpharetta, Georgia. His hobbies include making video games, writing poems, and stargazing.

Sarah Reck is an English major with an emphasis in creative writing. She loves watching bad movies, drinking coffee, and her dog Lucky.

Warren Rogers is a 4th year Entertainment and Media Studies major with a certificate in interdisciplinary writing. Their favorite book is Wicked by Gregory Maguire. When not reading, or writing they love movie nights and their cat, Harvey.

Zara Saberi is a Classics Major with minors in Classical Culture and Korean who loves Persian poetry, Pokémon, and telling people random animal facts.

Anika Saxena

Russell Spearman is an English Major who loves all things reading, writing, and editing. He is also a member of the Creative Writing Club and hopes to one day join the publishing industry.

Mann Chung Hak Sy Tha is a third-year student of Cambodian and Chinese heritage pursuing his bachelor’s in English and Comparative Literature. He loves to immerse himself in speculative worlds and new cultural contexts. At the same time though, he likes to think that he can still find joy in his mundane.

Arya Telang is a sophomore double majoring in the Terry College of Business, with a Criminal Justice minor and certificates in Legal Studies and FinTech. She enjoys listening to indie rock music, writing depressing poetry, and trying out new recipes in her free time. With a strong passion for literature and film, you can find her curled up with a good book or watching her favorite movies late at night.

Carolina Torres is a second-year English and Management major. She loves reading fantasy novels and listening to country and/or indie music. You can often find her playing a wildly varied playlist or reading poems from the Romanticism era.

Shelby Williams is a third-year Psychology and English major. She loves reading and writing poetry in her free time, and you can always find her dancing with Pamoja Dance Company where she serves as the current Dance Troupe Coordinator.

Jana Wrenn is an English major with an emphasis in creative writing. When not reading or writing, you can find her singing with her a capella group, Noteworthy, or working on set as a background actor.
